Rev. Wenzel Newton
Rev. Wenzel Dwayne Newton was born on November 2, 1969, to the proud parentage of Idamae Stubbs and Arthur Newton (both deceased). He is one of eight siblings: four brothers and four sisters.
At the age of five, his parents migrated to Mangrove Cay, Andros where he attended Victoria Point Primary School, and Mangrove Cay High. He returned to Nassau at the age of 18. His first employment was at the Gladstone Chicken Farm where he served as a delivery man for two years. He also worked at Caribbean Landscape Ltd. for three years. He later transitioned to the position of a Parasail Boat captain, a job he has held for 22 years.
Min. Newton serves as the president of the Men’s Ministry at Southwest Cathedral, a position he has held for the past eight years. He also serves as vice president of the National Life Builders men’s ministry. In January of this year, he was elected to serve as the president of the Men’s Ministry for the western district of New Providence.
In 2011/2012, under the leadership of Bishop Charles Dean, national education director for the Church of God Bahamas, Turks & Caicos Islands, Min. Newton successfully completed the CAMS course.
In 2014, Minister Newton returned for a visit to his alma mater, Mangrove Cay High. At this time, during the General Assembly, one male student gave his life to the Lord. Bibles were also distributed to the students. The trip was a success – To God be the Glory!
Minister Newton is married to Eloise Newton, nee King. This union is blessed with two children: Shada and Wenzel Jr.
