NATIONAL SECRETARY :-
Bishop Joseph Smith, better known as Joe or in the sporting world as “Joe Moe” was born in Long Island to Emily Smith and Abram Horton on March 1st, 1964. He came to the island of New Providence at the age of 6, and finished his primary education at E.P. Roberts Primary school. He then attended C.H. Reeves Junior High, and finished his senior education at the Government High school in 1981. Joseph developed into a loving young man full of talent and potential.
Pastor Joe started out in the ministry as a Youth Pastor of the Southland Cathedral Church of God under the leadership of Bishop Teuton C. Stubbs. He was called up higher as he was elected as Senior Pastor of the Independence Drive Church of God where he was presented to the people of IDC on Resurrection Sunday March 31, 2013, with an enthusiastic and thunderous welcome.
Since then, the church has seen growth and improvement not only in membership, but also to the physical structure. Some of his accomplishments thus far include: purchasing padded chairs for the sanctuary, installing a sound room, expanding the band area, repaired the leaking roof, and poured a cement trench around the perimeter of the church to stop the flooding. Most importantly, over 40 members have been added…all this in his first year. What an achievement!
Currently and inspired by a vision from God, he has started a project called “Vision 2020”. This project includes an expansion of the church building, but the ultimate goal is to reach the lost and hurting and bring them into the fold.
